The House in Aristofanous Street
Private House/Renovation, 2016, Limassol
The existing 1940’s family house is located in the Heart of the urban Limassol district
Situated in the nostalgic Aristofanous Road, where the family members shared a lifetime of memories, the presence of the Residence, stands out from the newly dense urban programme surrounding the area.
The aim is to maintain and enhance even further the authentic character of the House, by proposing delicate extensions that will improve the special and programmatic usage of the house.
The space required is introduced by light glass elements, physically connecting the building together and suspended plantation for providing shelter and privacy from the scorching summer Mediterranean sun and the busy surroundings’.
At the back of the Residence where the kitchen is located, a wooden pergola is introduced, providing for a private outdoor area, under the shelter of the blooming voukemvilia, where the family gathers for cooking and drinking.
A swimming pool is proposed along the site of the house, us an extension of the existing enhance garden,
visually connecting the internal with the external of the Residence.
Colorful plantation is introduced around the perimeter of the House, providing privacy from the external noise.
A small “Oasis” in the heart of the buzzing city.
