Residential Project in Limassol
The proposed House situated on the ridges of the Rocky Hill site at Agios Athanasios, is conceived by the purity of the existing morphology of the area that co-exist's in harmony with the majestic views towards the Limassol coastline.
The design is conceived with two volumes arranged perpendicular to each other, in order to allow the User's privacy from road level and uninterrupted views and cool fresh air towards Limassol seafront.
The dynamic white volume, balancing above ground level, cantilevering over the edges of the heavy local stone walls and full high glass, supporting from below, becomes a bridge, sheltering the proposed Living Spaces below.
After careful consideration to the interaction with Cyprus strong sunlight, the white volume were the material palette is reduced to emphasize the lightness and provide tranquillity, the proposal is designed so as to filter and allow light and interesting shadow patterns, to gently interact with the bedrooms located within, providing privacy and uninterrupted views towards the majestic Limassol coastline.
The "open layout" of the living area on ground level, allows the User to reconfigure the internal space, erasing its boundaries and transforming the internal to an "open" courtyard, interconnecting nature and User, internal and external, enhancing the overall experience and spatial qualities of the proposal.
The roof connecting the gardens on either site, ensures that the User can enjoy the outdoor in any weather condition, reconfiguring the internal space into an etherial experience.
