MH - Residence
The existing House located on the sloppy hillside of Germasogeia area in Limassol creates the opportunity to enjoy the majestic views towards the Li-massol's coastline.
The brief aims to refurbish the existing main House by reconfiguring and enhancing the spatial and programmatic qualities, connecting the internal with the external proposal at various levels.
The remodelling of the existing House aims to maximise natural sunlight throughout its spatial boundaries. The proposed reconfiguration of the functional layout expands the internal spaces and qualities.
The introduction of natural materials such as the local Limassolian stone and wood, softens the overall experience of the external envelop on the existing House. Local plantation is introduced to enhance visually the overall senses. A suspended swimming pool is designed, projecting towards the horizon, providing for a shaded-sheltered outdoor space underneath, where the gym, spa facilities and children's playroom are introduced. The design provides direct connection with the lower garden level allowing for activities to unfold and the sunlight to gently interact with the proposed space.
The new studio House follows the same principle, overlooking throughout the two gardens, dissolving the physical boundaries and projecting them further into the greenery.
The roof of the proposed studio House acts like a "bridge" connecting vertically the upper and lower level, providing functional and relaxing activities and breathtaking views into the garden below and the surrounding area.
